There are different funding possibilities through the QNLO graduate program. They are listed below.
Visiting scientists and students
In order to keep a high degree of internationalization and collaboration, exchange visits of researchers (Ph.D. students, postdocs or professors) are an important activity of the program, therefore funding is possible. The different funding schemes for visiting researchers are:
-
Short term visits (2-3 days): QNLO graduate school may cover travel expenses up to 5000 DKK and moderate accommodation expenses.
-
Long term visits (1-8 weeks): QNLO graduate school may cover travel expenses up to 5000 DKK and may cover additional salary.

Requirements for funding
-
at least one relevant seminar should be delivered by the visitor and information about the seminar should be announced on this website and emailed to the members of the QNLO graduate school
-
the purpose of the visit should fall within the scope of the QNLO graduate school.
Funding for visiting researchers can be obtained by sending an email to Ulrik L. Andersen with information about the invited scientist, the dates and title(s) of presentation(s) and duration of stay.
Travel stipends for QNLO members (Ph.D. students)
Ph.D. students who are planning to stay abroad for a longer period of time during their Ph.D. project can apply for a travel stipend of 10.000 DKK. To be eligible for receiving a stipend, the student should be part of the QNLO graduate school and the purpose of the stay should fall within the general research themes of the QNLO graduate school.
The student may apply for a stipend by filling out the form here and send it by email to ulrik.andersen@fysik.dtu.dk.
Pre-doc stipends
This year QNLO will award an elite master student working in the field of quantum optics and non-linear optics a pre-doc scholarship. The stipend gives the student the opportunity to focus on his/her research project without spending time on a part-time job. With the stipend, we also encourage the students to continue working on their Ph.D. within the QNLO graduate school.
