Content:
- Overview over optical measurements of mechanical, thermal and other quantities. Physical background including light sources, detection of light, alalysis of noise and fluctuations in detector signals. Principles including measurements of distance, velocity, vibration. Methods using white light, inteferometric methods, holographic methods and speckle interferometry. Fibre optics and fibre optical sensors. Doppler velocimetry and particle image velocimetry and methods using molecular scattering phenomena. Finally, processing and presentation of data and estimation of uncertainties in optical measurements.
